Welcome to BoredGeorge! This website is operated by George Gray, the creative mind and hands behind BoredGeorge – a maker venture born out of passion and shaped by practice. What began as a hobby has grown into a journey of craftsmanship, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using my website. By accessing or purchasing from BoredGeorge.nz (or my social platforms), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. Products and Craftsmanship

BoredGeorge offers two categories of products:

Handcrafted Items (Laser-engraved cutting boards and physical 3D printed models)

Each item is handcrafted and unique – slight variations in wood grain, color, epoxy patterning, print finish, and material consistency are part of what makes every BoredGeorge piece special. I take pride in the quality and practicality of every creation, and while I strive for perfection, small imperfections are part of the handmade/3D printing process. This includes minor variations in layer lines, support mark visibility, and color consistency between prints.

Digital Files (STL files for 3D printing)

Digital product files are provided as-is. Files are tested and verified before delivery but are sold without warranty regarding printing results, as success depends on individual printer settings, materials, and user expertise. I am not responsible for failed prints, material waste, or printer damage resulting from file use. By purchasing STL files, you acknowledge understanding of 3D printing variables and accept responsibility for your printing outcomes.

2. Digital Product Licensing and Use

License Grant

When you purchase an STL file from BoredGeorge, you are granted a non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable license to:

  • Download and use the file to print physical models for personal use only

  • Print the model multiple times for your own collection or personal gifting

Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Redistribute, resell, or share the digital files with others

  • Use files for commercial purposes without explicit written permission

  • Modify and republish the files as your own creation

  • Use files in print-on-demand services or commercial 3D printing

  • Upload files to public repositories or file-sharing sites

Breach of these terms will result in immediate termination of your license and potential legal action.

3. Ordering and Payment

All orders are processed securely via the payment methods available at checkout. Once payment is confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation of your order.

Handcrafted Orders: Custom orders may take additional time to complete – I'll keep you updated along the way.

Digital Files: Upon successful payment, download links will be provided immediately via email. No refunds are available once files have been accessed or downloaded.

4. Shipping and Delivery

I offer domestic shipping within New Zealand for physical products. Shipping times may vary depending on the item, especially custom pieces. Please allow extra time for handcrafted work. Local pickup may also be arranged upon request.

Digital files are delivered instantly via email and do not require shipping.

5. Returns and Refunds

Physical Products

Due to the custom and handmade nature of the products, returns are generally not accepted unless an item arrives damaged or defective. If there is an issue with your order, please contact me within 7 days of receiving it, and I'll do my best to make it right. Eligible items may be replaced or refunded at my discretion.

Digital Files

Digital products are non-refundable once downloaded or accessed. This is due to the inability to prevent file copying or redistribution after delivery. If you experience a technical issue receiving your files, we will resend them or troubleshoot, but refunds will not be issued.

6. Intellectual Property

My Content

All images, text, designs, artwork, and content on this site are the property of BoredGeorge (George Gray) unless otherwise stated. You may not use or reproduce them without permission.

Your Use of Digital Files

When you purchase an STL file, you own the physical objects you print from that file. However, you do not own the design or digital file itself. The design remains the intellectual property of BoredGeorge. You may not claim the design as your own or remove any design credits.

User-Generated Content

I encourage you to share photos of your BoredGeorge creations on social media! By tagging @bored_george_nz or sharing content related to my products, you grant BoredGeorge permission to repost or feature your content (with or without credit at my discretion).

7. File Quality and Support

File Testing

All STL files are tested on multiple printers before release to ensure they print successfully with standard settings. However, 3D printing involves variables beyond our control including printer calibration, nozzle condition, material quality, and user settings.

Limited Support

We offer basic troubleshooting assistance for digital file purchases (e.g., "file won't import" or "model appears broken"). We do not provide:

  • Printer-specific tuning advice

  • Material recommendations (this is user-dependent)

  • Support for modified or edited versions of files

  • Reprinting or reprinting fee compensation for failed prints

8. User Conduct

I ask that all visitors use this site respectfully. Any use that could damage, disable, or impair the website or interfere with others' use is strictly prohibited. This includes attempting to reverse-engineer, crack, or bypass protections on digital files.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to me. I only collect necessary information to process your order and will never share or sell your information without your consent. For digital file purchases, I retain minimal information necessary for license verification and customer service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, BoredGeorge (George Gray) shall not be liable for:

  • Failed 3D prints or printing outcomes

  • Damage to printers or materials

  • Loss of digital files due to your own backup failures

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

11. Modifications

I reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting with an updated Effective Date. Your continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of those changes.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be resolved through good faith communication first. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to New Zealand law and the appropriate jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
